"Chilis in Morning Light"
"Chilis in Morning Light"
archival giclée, cotton rag

In my mother's kitchen, among the many other seedlings she was tending to in anticipation of the pending last frost, was a small but hearty chili plant. Having no macro lens at the time I used an old photographer's trick and flipped my 50mm around. Macro achieved and, after processing the slides, I was happy to see my lens's rear element had scattered light everywhere.
