In the spring of a wet year these grow in such abundance in Santa Fe that the young apricot trees bend under the weight of the fruit. The mature trees on the other hand, in the spring wind, drop them with the frequency of autumn leaves, sometimes in these luscious clusters. Those passing beneath, beware! and be grateful, you could be passing under a pear tree.
